“No Durri for this Murri®” Community Tobacco Stalls
As part of North Coast Aboriginal Corporation for Community Health’s (NCACCH) commitment to Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS), the “No Durri for this Murri®” team deliver Tobacco Stalls at community events and activities throughout the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions.
The stalls include a number of interactive educational displays – such as giant cigarettes displaying the harmful chemicals found within, jars of phlegm and tar associated with smoking – Gross! The “No Durri for this Murri®” stalls also provide community with a range of smoking cessation information, and links to quit support and NCACCH referral options.
Smokers are encouraged to sign the “Let’s Clear the Air”, Smoke-Free pledge to demonstrate their commitment to making their homes and cars Smoke-Free, protecting themselves and their family from the dangers of second hand smoking.
