The Nanna Bill’s Mums & Bubs program promotes healthy outcomes and healthy lifestyle choices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women and their babies. The program aims to assist Indigenous mothers to utilise antenatal care from their health providers and provide support until the baby is one year old. This will provide families with improved access to health care, services and information which will assist self-sufficiency.
As a participant in the program:
• Provide mothers with access to a registered Midwife. The Midwife will meet with clients on a regular basis in a suitable/convenient place eg home or park etc
• Assist with information, networking and access to other service providers
• Provide support and advocacy during pregnancy and up until baby is one year old
The Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander home visiting program was developed to promote wellbeing for Indigenous mothers, fathers and babies in the NCACCH footprint.
