Nanna Bills Mums and Bubs program update 2023- program PAUSED until further notice.
As part of NCACCHs ongoing continuous quality improvement process, we have decided to review this program to improve its already fantastic support services. To ensure the success of this review, current services provided by the program will be placed on pause for a short period. This will take effect from Friday 30th June 2023.
Please be reassured, NCACCH is working closely with services such as the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) Birawan Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program and the SCHHS Jabba Jabba program to ensure you are still provided with the required support services during this short pause.
If you are already a client of the NCACCH Aboriginal Medical Service, NCACCH Chronic Disease Management Program (CDMP) or the SCHHS Birawan MGP program, this does not change.
We hope the Nanna Bills Mums and Bubs program helped in addressing your needs and hope to continue providing services to you and your family through NCACCHs other health services.
****************************************************************
The Nanna Bill’s Mums & Bubs program promotes healthy outcomes and healthy lifestyle choices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women and their babies. The program aims to assist Indigenous mothers to utilise antenatal care from their health providers and provide support until the baby is one year old. This will provide families with improved access to health care, services and information which will assist self-sufficiency.
As a participant in the program:
• Provide mothers with access to a registered Midwife. The Midwife will meet with clients on a regular basis in a suitable/convenient place eg home or park etc
• Assist with information, networking and access to other service providers
• Provide support and advocacy during pregnancy and up until baby is one year old
The Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander home visiting program was developed to promote wellbeing for Indigenous mothers, fathers and babies in the NCACCH footprint.
